Sri Neelakanta Theerthapada Swamikal was one of the three main disciples of Brahmasri Paramabhattaraka Vidhyadhiraja Chattampi Swami Thiruvadikal. He entered Mahasamadhi on August 8, 1921 four years before his Guru. His love and respect to the Master was akin to that of the devotion of Sri Hanuman for Sri Rama. Upon seeing his disciple in Samadhi in Padmasana Chattampi Swamikal remarked that he sat only twice in that pose in front of him, the first when he took Sanyasa Deeksha and now on his Samadhi. There is only one temple where Param Pujya Chattampi Swamikal made a prathishta, which is over the samadhi mandapam of his disciple. That happened on the 24th April 1922. A short life sketch of Sri Neelakanta Theerthapada (in Malayalam) is given in attachment #1.
Samadhi Shathabdhi is on August 8, 2021. From this date to April 24, 2022, the date of Sivalinga Prathishta, we plan on observing as Samadhi Shathabdhi period. The Centenary Year will continue until August 8, 2022.  Sri Neelakanta Theerthapada was well versed in Yoga and Vedanta. He was a scholar in Sanskrit and Malayalam. He had authored more than 40 books, keerthanas and commentaries on Vedanta which was more than any other sage during a short period of life. A few of his published books have been read by scholarly readers in different parts of India and abroad during his life time. Some of the European universities and libraries have collections of his books. However, many are still remaining in manuscript form with his disciples. Extant copies of the published works are not available. The titles of his works are given in attachment #2.
It is unfortunate that a scholarly sage who amassed such great knowledge never received the recognition he really deserve. One can imagine he never desired earthly recognition, since his mind remained focused on Vedantas and Puranas. As one of the plans for the Samadhi Centenary celebration, it is proposed that all available manuscripts will be collected and published under the auspices of Theerthapada Ashram, Vazhoor.
It is our sacred duty for those of us who can afford to volunteer themselves and undertake publication of one or more of the titles of their choice. This momentous task by you will leave a legacy to the future. The plan is to include the sponsor’s name and details, including images of loved ones, living or deceased, as desired.
In the cause of Sanathana Dharma and on behalf of Sri Neelakanta Theerthapada Ashram I implore you to complete this sacred duty and humbly request for you to consider supporting this project. Your valuable response will be an encouragement in our collective endeavor.
There are not so many people to support such a project except those who have a sincere interest in the values of Sanathana Dharma. I hope you will kindly consider this request and send me your favorable response.
